LSU was well-represented during the first night of the 2024 NFL Draft and Tigers alum Angel Reese couldn’t be happier.
Taking to X, Reese congratulated her alma mater on have three players selected in the first round – quarterback Jayden Daniels, wide receiver Malik Nabers and wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. Only two other teams had as many players drafted as them and none had more.
“3 LSU GUYS FIRST ROUND!!! EVER YEAR THIS WHAT WE DO!! CONGRATS GUYS!!!!” Reese wrote.
LSU proved once again that they deserve the mantra of “Wide Receiver U.” While the Ohio State Buckeyes have seen a ton of their receivers go in the first round, the Tigers re-established themselves as one of the top schools for elite receiver talent.
But Jayden Daniels may have been the true prize of the NFL Draft. Going No. 2 overall to the Washington Commanders – the highest for an LSU player since Joe Burrow in 2020 – Daniels had one of the best seasons by any LSU player since Burrow’s magical national championship season in 2019.
Last year Daniels completed 72.2-percent of his passes for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns while adding another 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground as the Tigers went 10-3 and finished with a ReliaQuest Bowl win over Wisconsin.
With Nick Saban finally leaving Alabama, the time could be ripe for Brian Kelly’s team to assert its dominance in the conference for the next couple of years.
It’s a great time to be a Tiger.
