Wrestlemania 42 will take place in the home of the Saints in 2026

February 23, 2025 by Saints Wire

The city of New Orleans has another major event lined up. After hosting Super Bowl LIX, the city will be the home of Wrestlemania 42 in 2026. It is the biggest event in all of pro wrestling and it’s making it’s return to the home of the New Orleans Saints.

The announcement was made by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on the latest episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown. It was an appropriate moment to make the announcement as Smackdown was live from the Smoothie King Center, home of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Wrestlemania 42 will take place next door at the Caesars Superdome.

It’s the third time New Orleans has hosted The Grandest Stage of Them All. The first time was in 2014 and then again in 2018. In the eight years since the last time New Orleans hosted this event, Wrestlemania has increased from one night to a two-night event. It is tentatively scheduled for April 11-12, 2026, so that won’t conflict with the Saints’ 2026 season.

This year’s Wrestlemania will take place in Las Vegas. There will also be three weekly events and multiple fan events in Las Vegas during Wrestlemania week. New Orleans can expect a similar experience next year.

New Orleans is used to hosting large events, and if anyone needed any proof, they can look back to just two weeks ago when the city put on a great week of Super Bowl activities.
