Peoples-Jones, 26, was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Detroit Lions during the 2023 NFL season for a sixth-round pick. The veteran receiver brought in 13 receptions for 155 yards that year.
Peoples-Jones spent the 2024 season on the Lions practice squad after failing to make the 53-man pre-season roster.
Despite the lack of production during his last season as a starter and being a practice squad body, Peoples-Jones has experienced success in the league in the past. Over his five-year career, the 6-foot-2 pass catcher has accumulated 1,895 yards and 8 touchdowns.

The Saints have expressed interest in adding a wideout after failing to land one in the NFL Draft. While the team has been linked to names such as Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper, they may settle for a cheaper option in Peoples-Jones.
Peoples-Jones utilizes his large frame and can become a red-zone threat for New Orleans. Despite only scoring 8 touchdowns throughout his career, the 6-foot-2 wide receiver scored 14 touchdowns over his final two seasons in college with the Michigan Wolverines, scoring a touchdown once every six receptions.

The Saints will need to add depth and size to their wide receiver room. With Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Brandin Cooks set to be their starting wideouts, there is a major lack of size and injury concern. Adding Peoples-Jones could be a cheap boost to the receiver corps and give the team a young piece that could develop into more.
