This season, the Saints will host the Cleveland Browns in New Orleans.
The New Orleans Saints will face the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 of the 2024/25 NFL Season. This matchup last occurred in 2022 where fans saw the Saints come out on top.
Arrivals and Departures for the Browns
Main Arrivals
- Jerry Jeudy
- Jameis Winston
- Jordan Hicks
- Devin Bush
Main Departures
- Anthony Walker Jr.
- Sione Takitaki
- Joe Flacco
- Kareem Hunt
Jerry Jeudy headlines the offseason for the Cleveland Browns. Jeudy has had a slower start to his career, but this fresh start could turn his career around. Besides this move, the Browns had a very quiet off-season. Losing a team captain in Anthony Walker Jr. and 2023 comeback player of the year Joe Flacco might hurt this team next season. Saying this, the Browns were able to get free agents to fill these lost positions without getting much worse.
How do the Saints matchup with the Browns?
The Browns are coming off of a very successful season at 11-6 and a playoff game. The interesting thing about this is that Joe Flacco elevated this offense to another level. Deshaun Watson has been decent since being traded to the Browns, but injuries and head-scratching moments have affected recent seasons. If the Browns can sustain their offense from last year, this team could be a dangerous matchup for the Saints.
The Saints have an unknown offense going into 2024, but their defense is not. They have game-changers who can win games. The issue with a matchup with the Browns is that their defense is just as good. While the Saints have the better defensive back room, the Browns have the better defensive line. Myles Garrett has the chance of being the best player on the field at all times. With the Saints’ current issues at the offensive line, Garrett has a chance to ruin the game for the Saints.
By comparing what both teams bring to the matchup, the Saints could be what the Browns were last season. An amazing defense that needs the offense to find a rhythm, and they do. The issue with this is that the Browns will be one year ahead and can build off of a great year. This will be a tough matchup, but if the Saints can win the turnover battle, then an upset could occur.
