Corner @jayceehorn_10 says he’d lock up his dad—former Saints WR Joe Horn—if they went one-on-one in pops’ prime
And the cell phone celebration?
“We’re gonna fight before he does that. Can’t let that happen.”

Joe Horn left a strong legacy with the New Orleans Saints. The four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver finished his Saints tenure ranked second-best in the team record books in receptions (523) and receiving yards (7,622), while owning the title for the most-ever touchdown catches (50). He’s still looked back on fondly as a key part of New Orleans’ offense in the early 2000’s along with star running back Deuce McAllister.
And now one of Horn’s sons is ready to make his mark on the NFL. Jaycee Horn is a cornerback out of South Carolina and one of the most electrifying prospects in this year’s draft class. He posted historically great numbers at his pro day workout in front of NFL scouts and coaches and figures to be picked early in the first round.
So how would the two stack up if the elder Horn lined up against his son, but in the prime of his athletic career? The younger Horn doesn’t lack for confidence: he says he’d lock up his old man in one-on-one coverage. And, no, his dad’s signature (or infamous) cell phone celebration wouldn’t fly; Horn joked with Bleacher Report’s Master Tesfatsion: “We’re gonna fight before he does that. Can’t let that happen.”
While he’s grateful for all he’s learned from the NFL great he’s known all his life, at the end of the day Horn is eager to take his own path at the sport’s highest level. He learned plenty from his father, and now it’s time for him to put all that knowledge to good use.
“I’m my own man,” Horn conceded. “Hopefully I can have a legacy like his one day.”
