Get to know the Saints fourth round selection
Day three of the 2025 NFL Draft was Saturday afternoon, and the New Orleans Saints had two picks in the fourth round. With their first one, they selected Danny Stutsman, a linebacker out of Oklahoma.
Here are some things to know about the new Saints linebacker.
#1. He’s the ultimate teammate
Danny Stutsman is someone who loves his teammates. That much was clear when he donated $50,000 of his NIL money to Oklahoma’s walk-ons.
Our guy @FbStutsman continues to be a leader on and off the field and has generously donated a large portion of his NIL earnings back to the walk-ons who have been loyal to our program and Team 130

#2. He is a DAWG
In 2024, Stutsman gathered 110 total tackles, according to PFF. Since 2022, he has been first in tackles for loss with 34. Stutsman is also the first Oklahoma player since Travis Lewis to have three consecutive seasons with 100+ tackles, according to his Instagram.
While his coverage skills could use some polishing, his run defense is elite. PFF gives his run defense a grade of 90.9. That’s higher than Jalon Walker, the first linebacker taken in the draft, who had a grade of 62.3.
#3. He’s speedy
Stutsman ran a 4.52 40-yard dash at the NFL combine. That ranked fourth among participating linebackers. His 10-yard split of 1.55 ranked fifth.
