While their trade with the Philadelphia Eagles was the big news of the day for the New Orleans Saints, they also signed a former first-round pick.
The Saints have added defensive Taco Charlton, who was taken in the first-round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Charlton spent last season in Pittsburgh as part of the Steelers’ stout defense.
In 11 games (one start), he posted 18 tackles and 0.5 sacks. Charlton played for Kansas City the previous year, appearing in seven games and picking up seven tackles and a pair of sacks.
The Saints confirmed Charlton’s signing in simple, yet creative fashion on Twitter.

Charlton only played two seasons with Dallas, the team that drafted him. He registered 46 tackles and four sacks in 27 games with the Cowboys.
Dallas released Charlton early in the 2019 season, but the Michigan alum wasn’t out of work long. The Miami Dolphins claimed him, and he made five starts and played in 10 games for them, racking up 21 tackles and five sacks.
