The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a familiar face at wide receiver.
Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Saints are signing Tre’Quan Smith. It’s going to be a two-year deal that’s worth up to $6M, with $2M guaranteed.

Smith has been with the Saints for the last four seasons. He was originally drafted by them in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
He finished this past season with 377 yards and three touchdowns while catching 32 total passes.
In four seasons with New Orleans, Smith has totaled 1,486 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns off of 112 receptions.
This was a move the Saints needed to make since their receiving room is pretty weak. They’re expected to get Michael Thomas back for next season, but how he performs is a mystery.
Thomas didn’t play during the 2021 season and hasn’t played a full season since 2019.
The Saints also may draft a receiver since this class is loaded with talent at that position. Getting another weapon for Jameis Winston will go a long way towards having the Saints be competitive next season.
