With the NFL Draft just one day away, Sports Illustrated has named the worst draft picks of all-time for each franchise.
There have been plenty of draft picks that didn’t pan out for the New Orleans Saints, but the one that stands out from the rest of the pack is Johnathan Sullivan.
Sullivan was selected by the Saints with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. He was drafted ahead of Troy Polamalu, Terrell Suggs, Kevin Williams and other standout defensive players.
In three seasons with the Saints, Sullivan had 78 combined tackles, five tackles for loss, three passes defended, 1.5 sacks and forced fumble.
During the 2006 offseason, the Saints traded Sullivan to the New England Patriots for wide receiver Bethel Johnson.
It’s not all bad news for Saints fans.
The Saints have drafted a plethora of stars over the past two decades, such as Terron Armstead, Jimmy Graham, Mark Ingram, Malcolm Jenkins, Cam Jordan, Alvin Kamara, Marshon Lattimore and Michael Thomas.
As of now, the Saints own the No. 16 and No. 19 picks in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
