Social media reactions to Saints nail-biter win over the Falcons

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

No love is lost in this division rivalry.

“It’s hard to beat an NFL team twice in three weeks.”

That was what pundits were saying leading up to the New Orleans Saints traveling to the division rival Atlanta Falcons. The Saints could clinch a playoff berth by sweeping the season series against the Falcons and a loss by the Chicago Bears.

The Bears ultimately lost to the Detroit Lions, and the Saints were able to hold on to a 21-16 win over the Falcons.

Because it was against a hated division rival, #SaintsTwitter responded calmly and politely, right?

lol

You must not know this team. Here are some of the best reactions from #SaintsTwitter after the game:

That’s the ballgame! #Saints win! 21-16

The Saints are 8-0 with backup quarterbacks starting the last two seasons.

It was ugly at the end, but nine straight wins? That’s nothing to sneeze at.

Stats show a dominant performance. However in the #nfl penalties often affect outcomes of games where talent levels are equal. Field position and drives kept alive are huge. Game wasn’t close except penalties (some legit and some not).

Falcons fans are upset after the game, but that’s just because it’s strange for them to watch a game where a team builds an early lead and doesn’t blow it later.

IT’S OFFICIAL, THEY’RE IN!
