Social media reactions to Saints loss to Chiefs

December 21, 2020 by Canal Street Chronicles Leave a Comment

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at New Orleans Saints
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

It was a good game, but maybe there’s reason for hope.

Every NFL team is battered and bruised at this point in the season, and both the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs had injuries on both sides of the ball.

In the end, the injuries and poor-execution from the Saints was not enough to eke out a win over Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champs. It ended up being a roller coaster of a game, and a game Saints fans hope is a preview of two teams headed for the Super Bowl in February – but the Saints might hope for a different outcome next time.

Here are the best social media reactions from the game:

Saints lose to Chiefs 32-29.
Vikings come to Dome on Christmas Day.

Maybe I’ll look silly for saying this later, but:

If the Saints have their reigning Offensive Player of the Year, their other All-Pro WR, both starting guards, their starting defensive line, and their Pro Bowl safety…

I like our chances.

guys, we’re fine

I’ll say this. If that was the Chiefs at 85%, we made it a 3-pt game operating at a solid 60%.

If this ends up the SB, with a healthy o-line, healthy Brees back in-sync, Michael Thomas, Deonte Harris, TQS, maybe Callaway, and a 90% healthy defense, I take the Saints.

Saints have to get healthy. Lost Marcus, Trey, Peat and Tre’Quan this game. You already have Mike, Deonte and Callaway on IR.

Time of possession was pretty astounding. Chiefs had the ball for more than 40 minutes.

Great game between 2 great teams. Hoping we see it again February in Tampa, FL. . Still think @Saints are the better overall TEAM. Next time will have back 2 pro bowl WRs: @Cantguardmike @tayynation1

On to Christmas day vs Vikings! #Saints@CoxSportsTV #clinchNFCSouth

If Drew is throwing to Michael Thomas instead of scrubs we’re probably winning this game.

Reporter: Alvin, would you say this game felt like a playoff game?

Alvin Kamara: No

— Luke Johnson (@ByLukeJohnson) December 21, 2020

No excuses! No matter how I feel about it, an ejectable offense was the outcome, I hurt the squad, and in the 4th qtr on a crucial drive! that’s on me! This loss on me! Can’t happen! Whatever the correction I will be better

— cameron jordan (@camjordan94) December 21, 2020

Saints QB Drew Brees laughed when asked if he was 100% and said “No.” Then quickly added, “But I’m on my way.”

Brees said at this time of year everybody’s fighting through something. Said this is an offense that is dependent on high efficiency, and it was just a hair off early.

D*mn that one hurt!! This team is special watch what I tell you! We gone finish on top

— Justin Hardee Sr. (@jhardee_19) December 21, 2020

Bounce back no holding our heads!

— Ceedy Duce. (@CGJXXIII) December 21, 2020

Watching Alvin Kamara should be pay per view.

— Ross Jackson (@RossJacksonNOLA) December 21, 2020

Sign Kenny Stills please @Saints
