Game designations for the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers.

The final injury report of the week has been released ahead of the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers matchup in Jacksonville, FL. In it, game designations have been listed, including two players declared out for Sunday’s game.

Wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith and cornerback Ken Crawley will not appear in this week’s matchup, nor will they appear over the next few weeks. In addition to being out on Sunday, both players were also moved to injured reserve, meaning they’ll miss at least the first three games of the season.

The Saints could look to elevate kicker Aldrick Rosas back to the active roster and call upon their practice squad for reinforcements at thinning positions

With Crawley and Smith out, expect to see rookie cornerback Paulson Adebo starting opposite Marshon Lattimore, who was back at practiced today and looks good to go this week, and Deonte Harris lining up across from Marquez Callaway.

There was an expectation that Harris could potentially be suspended to start the season (as with Marshon Lattimore) but it looks like he’ll be good to go this weekend. The Saints will need him as he adds a dynamic weapon on offense and will be key to their success with special teams.

The Saints also had two left tackles on their report without participation. Starting left tackle Terron Armstead and presumed backup tackle and “sixth man” James Hurst were new additions on Friday. Armstead looks like he’ll be expected to be available, listed without designation, and Hurst is listed as questionable.

As for Green Bay, Za’Darius Smith’s status has not changed over the week, limited throughout practice an dis now listed as questionable for the game. A hampered or unavailable Smith helps New Orleans quite a bit as they look to catch their footing behind a new offensive attack. The Packers brass don’t seem to have enough confidence to commit to the idea that Smith will play, though they haven’t yet ruled him out either.

Za’Darius Smith (back) is not being ruled out yet, although coach Matt LaFleur said he’s “feeling some things.”

Wouldn’t call it a setback but thought it was best to hold him out today and give him the next 48 hours to “prove whether or not he can play.”
