The New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp is underway, and today, head coach Kellen Moore had media availability to answer some questions. When asked about a QB competition, this is what Kellen Moore had to say:
Kellen Moore said they will rotate all the quarterbacks and give them the opportunity to compete.

This is the expected plan from the coaching staff, but it is still important to hear. A real competition is set to happen throughout the rest of the offseason, and there may not be a choice until week 1 of the regular season. Best case scenario is someone standing out amongst the group and being named the starter a bit earlier then the start of the regular season, but that probably won’t happen. Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, and Jake Haener will all fight for the starting spot, but Shough and Rattler are the favorites. If Rattler can make massive improvements from last season, he could make a massive impact on this coaching staff. Saying this, Shough was selected by this new staff, and he is the likely choice for week 1 of the season. This could change if Shough really struggles in training camp and looks like a rookie out there, but this coaching staff has reiterated that Shough looks like a league ready player.
