Luton originally signed with the Saints’ practice squad roster in September 2022. He was elevated to the active roster in October, but never stepped foot on the field for any in-game action in New Orleans. He signed a reserve/future contract with the team back in January.
Luton, 27, was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with a sixth-round pick in the 2020 draft. He went 0-3 as a starter in his rookie season, logging 624 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions with a 54.5 completion percentage.
He hasn’t logged any stats since these three games — bouncing around on practice squads for the Seahawks, Dolphins and Saints.
