The second-round pick out of Louisville is said to be very community involved.
Sounds like the New Orleans Saints might’ve gotten themselves a good one this past April.
Katie Harbert, Oregon’s Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development, spoke with me and spoke highly of Saints second-round pick Tyler Shough, who attended Oregon from 2018 to 2020.
“He’s always someone you anticipated would be a leader. He was engaged in things outside of football, and that’s really my role, and the fact that he was engaged in certain things with us was awesome to see.”
Harbert said the quarterback was big on giving back to the community he’s a part of, eager to get involved in anything service related. He would participate in many career readiness workshops and even did a ride-along with a police officer at one point.
“He’s a great human. I’m super excited for him to get this opportunity. And Jordan, I say I knew his wife well, and they are both amazing. New Orleans is lucky.”
Matt Dowdy, assistant AD for football at Texas Tech University (which Shough attended from 2021 to 2023), shared the same opinion, saying that Shough was great to work with.
And it seems the newly canonized Saint has already started to connect with the community. His first meal was at Drago’s Seafood Restaurant:
Saints rookie QB Tyler Shough is in NOLA.
His first meal…a New Orleans institution, @DragosSeafood with owner Tommy Cvitanovich.
I’m told the dinner lasted 3 hours and everyone loved Shough.

Shough was also seen at Tulane’s Yulman Stadium last week, getting reps in with Bub Means, Juwan Johnson, and Foster Moreau:

According to Jeff Duncan, columnist at NOLA.com, Shough also hopes to attend the Manning passing academy this June in Thibodaux, LA.
