Saints fans hoping team can break W-L-W-L pattern for extending winning streak

Saints are riding a two-game win streak and 2nd in the NFC South with playoffs in mind

The New Orleans Saints have a chance to get on a three-game win streak after beating the Washington Football Team and Seattle Seahawks. The team currently sits at 4-2, with a date with the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers on deck.

Over the course of the year, to say the Saints have been inconsistent at times would be an understatement. Coach Sean Payton went so far as to placing a yo-yo in every player’s locker before their match-up against the New York Giants, signally them not to be a back and fourth team (the team went on to lose against the G-Men 27-21). This back-and-forth record (even the Saints past two wins come sandwiched on either side of the bye week), has caused Saints fans’ confidence in the team to similarly go up and down. If you were to look at the below chart, it kind of looks like a Rollercoaster… something Saints fans will want to avoid moving forward.

The offense has had its struggles, but help is on the way. The Saints added a familiar friend to their backfield, trading for soon to be the all-time rusher in team history, Mark Ingram. Led by Jameis Winston, who has looked more comfortable and decisive in the offense every week, the team hopes to have increased energy going into Sunday’s game.

Winston currently has a 13-3 TD-to-INT ratio, which is a huge improvement for him. Winston has four games this season with zero turnovers, which already matches his total he had in his entire tenure with the Buccaneers, a key to winning in the Sean Payton offense.

If the Saints want to continue their win streak, it will have to be on the shoulders of the “Juice Boyzz.” The defense is playing on a championship level, with all three levels playing great football, anchored by Cam Jordan on the defensive line, DeMario Davis at linebacker, and Marshon Lattimore in the secondary. The Saints defense should be expecting the returning David Onyemata, their all-around beast in the trenches, making his season debut on Sunday after serving a six-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.

Saints fans always have faith in their team on Sundays. Given the resume of this coaching staff and roster Saints, fans should always have confidence in this team, every Sunday!
