After just signing last offseason, the Carolina Panthers could look to trade defensive lineman AShawn Robinson before the 2025 regular season begins. According to Bleacher Report, since the Panthers have been salvaging the trenches unit, it makes sense why the team could consider a trade. They got Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown in free agency while drafting Cam Jackson, so this means there might not be any room for Robinson to solidify his starting spot this year. The Panthers were dead last defensively on paper last season, but Robinson wasn’t one of the reasons why they couldn’t give proper relief, especially when they lost Derrick Brown to a brutal injury last year.
A team in need could be looking to swing a trade for Robinson either way. Originally selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the former Alabama product still has two years left on his contract, but he couldn’t live up to the expectations. While the Panthers could be wise to hold him a part of this roster, they might be better off selling him at a reasonable price to net some draft capital to fully embrace the rebuild behind quarterback Bryce Young, who is the leader of this team. Still, the team should listen to offers if the Panthers are willing to put him on the trade block. He won’t get the best offers in the world, but these four teams could take a chance on him.

Possible Fits
Baltimore Ravens
Even though the Ravens got John Jenkins following Michael Pierce’s retirement, the team could use more of a boost to help Nnamdi Madubuike this upcoming season. Travis Jones and Broderick Washington haven’t proved they are the long-term starters of this unit, and perhaps, Robinson may provide some temporary insurance. While they are looking to upgrade the pass-rushing department, it’s better off they get some type of depth to bolster the defense to give the Ravens more chances to win on that side of the ball.
New Orleans Saints
Meanwhile, the Saints will likely need to lean on the defense this 2025 campaign after Derek Carr’s retirement. Without an adequate quarterback, the offense is not in the best position to win football games. Since trading for Davon Goxchaux and re-signing Chris Young, the Saints need more firepower in that unit. General Manager Mickey Loomis can find a way to pinch more pennies into this team and get Collins a part of this group to provide some long-term stability in the defensive line that shares Cameron Jordan.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have one of the worst league starting defensive lines. After losing Poona Ford, the Chargers didn’t find a capable replacement, and it’s hard to fathom that Da’Shawn Hand will make any type of impact to help Teair Tart. While Bud Dupree is coming back, they need a trenches guy in the middle to keep this defense stabilized, and Collins could do that with the Chargers’ budget.
Washington Commanders
After losing Chase Young a few seasons ago and now releasing Jonathan Allen, the Commanders need some bolstering in their unit. Javon Kinlaw was probably one of the worst free-agent signings this offseason. Daron Payne is the best defensive lineman on this roster, and maybe trading for Collins could be a massive upgrade in Washington.
