Rams Announce Decision On Matthew Stafford For Saints Game

November 19, 2022 by The Spun

The Los Angeles Rams head to New Orleans on Sunday to take on the Saints. But after not having quarterback Matthew Stafford for Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals, will he be ready to take on New Orleans?

Stafford has been on the mend from a concussion this week. But on Friday, the Saints finally removed him from their injury report. As a result, he is expected to play and start against New Orleans this weekend.

The Saints offense struggled in the absence of Stafford against the Arizona Cardinals last week. Backup John Wolford threw for 212 yards and a touchdown with an interception in the 27-17 loss. But they couldn’t even find the endzone until the second half of that game.

Suffice it to say, Stafford will be a welcome addition to the lineup come Sunday.

It’s been a pretty rough year for Matthew Stafford and the reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. They’re just 3-6 and look almost nothing like the team that ran roughshod over teams for most of 2021.

Stafford might be the biggest culprit in that, as his eight touchdown passes in nine games are on pace for the lowest touchdown percentage of his career.

The Rams are struggling to win with and without Stafford. But with only eight weeks left, they’ll be hard-pressed to make the playoffs even if they start going on a tear again.

Will Stafford look like his old self against the Saints this weekend?
