NFL to be officially expanding to 17 games, Saints players less than thrilled

Yeah, safe to say Alvin Kamara isn’t happy.

The NFL is set to officially announce expanding the regular season to 17 games some time soon. For the New Orleans Saints, this would mean adding a game on the road against the Tennessee Titans somewhere on the schedule (it wouldn’t necessarily be the 17th game of the season as the official schedule hasn’t been announced it).

While fans of the Saints and NFL football might be excited about getting another week of football to watch each season, it’s a fair take from players to be none too excited about another week of getting hit, tackled, and hurt in one of the most grueling sports in the world.

New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl running back didn’t mince words with how he felt about the news:

Shit dumb… as hell.. https://t.co/HnJ0otzzWp

Pro Bowl defensive end Cam Jordan took a more reserved approach to show some of his obvious frustration:

We all knew it was comin, he knew it, she knew it, they knew it, I knew it… https://t.co/J9JiIhLmaQ pic.twitter.com/Y0uhfW1Bss

And while many Saints and NFL fans expressed support to players like Cam and Kamara for their frustration with having to take another week’s worth of punishment each year, some fans took a far less respectful route. Kamara shared one such message he received on Instagram:

17 games still dumb. Why he so mad pic.twitter.com/qUog1swyoL

Everyone will have an opinion.

If yours is negative, though – feel free to keep it to yourself.
