Week 6 featured a number of close contests. What will Week 7 have in store? Let’s take a look at all of this week’s action to find out.
The New Orleans Saints face the Seattle Seahawks in a Monday Night showdown in the Pacific Northwest. Russell Wilson will not be under center for the Seahawks. In his place will once again be Geno Smith, which is great news for the Saints. Not because Geno is so terrible, but because Russell is just that good. On the other side, the Saints face a Seattle defense that has struggled all season, and that could be just what the Saints need to have a breakout game on offense. The Saints can’t take any of that for granted if they want to win this game though.
The Saints are in no position to pity the Seahawks in this game. In spite of all their losses, Seattle will play with pride, and with their backs against the wall, at home on the national stage in primetime. The crowd will bring it in Seattle and it will be up to the Saints to keep them in their seats with little to be excited about. Now let’s take a look at this and all of the matchups in Week 7.

Thursday, October 21st – Thursday Night Football
Broncos(3-3) at Browns(3-3)
Being without Nick Chubb and Baker Mayfield, Cleveland will have to lean on their defense, as well as some mistake-free, efficient offensive play. Case Keenum will perfectly fill the role of game-manager for Cleveland in this game. This game will be very even, but Cleveland pulls out the close home win here. Cleveland wins 23-21.

Sunday, October 24th – Early Games
Panthers(3-3) at Giants(1-5)
Carolina will completely dismantle the Giants in this game, as their defense shuts down the Giants offense while the Carolina offense moves the ball at will on the other end. Carolina wins 42-17.

Jets(1-4) at Patriots(2-4)
After facing some stiff competition over the past month, New England could really use some easy competition again. Enter the Jets. New England wins 27-10.

Chiefs(3-3) at Titans(4-2) – Game of the Week
This game will come down to the wire, as Patrick Mahomes leads Kansas City down the field in the closing seconds, putting the Chiefs in position for a game-winning field goal as regulation ends. Kansas City wins 29-27.

Washington FT(2-4) at Packers(5-1)
Washington’s defense simply won’t be able to slow down Aaron Rodgers and the Pack. Green Bay wins 24-19

Falcons(2-3) at Dolphins(1-5)
Miami thought it couldn’t get worse than losing to the winless Jags. Just wait until they lose at home to the Falcons. Atlanta wins 23-20.

Cincinnati has been playing over their heads this season, but will lose a close one to the AFC’s hottest team in Baltimore. Baltimore wins 33-30.

Sunday, October 25th – Late Games
Lions(0-6) at Rams(5-1)
If there’s a team to pity, it’s the Lions. Los Angeles will roll Detroit in this one and it won’t be remotely close. Los Angeles wins 42-19.

Eagles(2-4) at Raiders(4-2)
Vegas’ passing attack will be the difference in this close game in Sin City. Las Vegas wins 28-24.

Watch Arizona’s ex-Texans absolutely go off on their former team in this one-sided affair. Arizona wins 35-16.

Surprisingly, Chicago will fight tooth-and-nail to keep this one close in Tampa, but the Bucs will still come out with the victory. Tampa wins 23-21.

Colts(2-4) at 49ers(2-3)
San Francisco’s defense forcing crucial turnovers will be the key to victory in this one against Indy. San Francisco wins 30-24.

Monday, October 25th – Monday Night Football
Saints(3-2) at Seahawks(2-4)
The Saints will build off their offensive output in Week 5 by putting forth their best offensive game of the season so far. Jameis Winston will have his first 300-yard passing game of the season. Alvin Kamara will have a 150+ yard combined performance. The Saints defense will have Geno Smith wishing for Russell Wilson’s swift return under center by the time this game has ended.
All that being said, this won’t be the type of cakewalk we saw the Saints have in Week 1. Seattle will surpass their loss total for the entire 2020 season with a loss here. Despite the struggle the team has had in 2021, we know the Seattle home crowd will be unbearably loud, especially in primetime, so the Saints can take absolutely nothing for granted.
The Saints will stay in control against the Seattle defense, controlling the tempo and tempering the crowd. The game will, in typical fashion, get closer late, but never close enough for the result to be in doubt. That result will be a Saints victory, putting the team at 4-2 going into a massive showdown in the Superdome on Halloween. Saints win 28-20.
