NFL GM Heats Up Superstar Weapon Trade Talks – 3 Potential Suitors

October 14, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

One NFL GM continues to fuel the rumors this 2025 season, so this means the trade talks could escalate for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown in the next few weeks. According to a report, at least one NFL executive believes a trade is bound to happen at any point, since he thinks that Brown looks “indifferent.” It’s an interesting take to dissect, as Brown has shown his frustrations the past few weeks, but this type of energy isn’t good for an organization that wants to win. Even though they won a ring in February, it doesn’t mean the Eagles won’t make one of the hardest decisions in the league, and that is trading Brown.

Originally selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the former Ole Miss product could be in a new uniform this season, and it shouldn’t shock anyone. Brown doesn’t seem to be in the place that he wants, and winning a ring doesn’t matter to him since it’s already been done this past 2024 campaign. What matters to him right now is getting the football in the right moments, and he likely feels that Jalen Hurts isn’t the right fit for him. Somehow, the team won the Super Bowl due to a strong running game and defense, so it’s no wonder that this offense is slowing down, as running back Saquon Barkley hasn’t been playing his best football this year.

With that, it shouldn’t be a surprise if the Eagles entertain a trade if they continue to lose after two straight losses to the Broncos and Giants. These three teams could benefit from Brown’s presence.

Possible Next Teams

Los Angeles Chargers

Even though the Los Angeles Chargers are in pursuit of a running back trade, they shouldn’t ignore upgrading the wide receiver unit. The team lost Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton in one year, but it shouldn’t be a surprise if they trade for a receiver before the deadline. Head coach Jim Harbaugh must understand that Justin Herbert thrives throwing the football to his offensive weapons.

With that, they should target Brown as they have enough cap space to pull off a massive trade. Brown would immediately get the starting job if the Eagles trade him and would help Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen as the most reliable, consistent playmakers in this offense today.

Buffalo Bills

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills haven’t had a superstar wide receiver since Stefon Diggs, who just put on a massive game against them. This doesn’t take away the credit that Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir have earned over the past years, but they need that last punch for quarterback Josh Allen. Brown joining Buffalo should put them in a position to be a favorite to make the Super Bowl.

New Orleans Saints

A lot will have to happen for this trade to happen. The Eagles aren’t going to make it easy for the Saints to get Brown, but New Orleans might be looking to move on from some of their talent this season either way. This includes playmakers like Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, who have been the main ingredients for this pass offense. What this means is that the Saints could trade Olave and a next year first-round pick in return for Brown.
