On Wednesday afternoon, New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis spoke to the local media about the team’s plans for the NFL Draft. During his press conference, he cracked a joke about Sean Payton.
Payton stepped down from his role as the head coach of the Saints back in January. However, he still has a close relationship with Loomis.
When Loomis was asked how the draft process has gone without Payton as the head coach, he told reporters, “Quieter.”
Loomis added that he’s joking. He said the process has been pretty similar with Dennis Allen at the helm.

The Saints’ front office has to take care of business on Thursday. As of now, they own the No. 16 and No. 19 picks in the first round of the draft.
One of the biggest needs for the Saints is wide receiver. They need to find a No. 2 option opposite of Michael Thomas.
It’s also possible the Saints target an offensive tackle on Day 1 of the draft. Charles Cross and Trevor Penning have been heavily linked to the team.
The NFL Draft officially starts on Thursday night.
