Mayor Of New Orleans Shares Major Saints Update

The New Orleans Saints are expected to be on the road for the first month of the NFL season due to the impact Hurricane Ida had on the Gulf Coast region. Fortunately, the team’s road trip shouldn’t extend past September.

Moments ago, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced that the Saints should be able to play at home on Oct. 3 against the New York Giants.

This is significant news for the city of New Orleans, not just the Saints. That fan base absolutely adores its football team and has proven over the past several years that it can create an electric environment in the Caesars Superdome.

It’s still too early for the Saints to officially announce their return date, but it certainly sounds like Louisiana is taking the necessary steps to return to normalcy.

For the time being, the Saints will be practicing at TCU’s facility. Their “home opener” against the Green Bay Packers, meanwhile, will take place this Sunday in Jacksonville.

After their Week 1 showdown with the Packers, the Saints will be on the road for the following two games. They’ll take on the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots to wrap up their slate of games in September.

Hopefully, the Saints will return to the Caesars Superdome on Oct. 3 and be reunited with their passionate fans.
