It’s been a bit of a roller coaster day for the Saints star cornerback.
Fresh out of signing one of the most lucrative NFL contracts for a cornerback in history, Marshon Lattimore of the New Orleans Saints is reportedly set to undergo surgery for an injured thumb.
Per source, Saints CB Marshon Lattimore suffered a thumb injury during Sunday’s win over the Packers. He’ll have surgery to repair it.

After starting the first half, Lattimore missed the first drive by the Green Bay Packers to open the second half of this evening’s game. When Lattimore returned to the field, he was wearing a small cast on his wrist/hand area. Now, we know it was likely because of his injured thumb.
Lattimore was able to play the rest of the game with the cast until the majority of the defensive starters were pulled with the game well in hand. It’s unknown at this time if Lattimore will be able to still suit up for the Saints following the surgery, possibly with a similar cast to what he wore in the second half against the Packers, but early reports consider him week-to-week. If Lattimore is forced to miss any amount of time, expect rookie Paulson Adebo and Bradley Roby, the latter who would be making his New Orleans Saints debut after suspension, to be the starting cornerbacks against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.
