He is currently awaiting MRI results to see the severity of the injury.

New Orleans Saints defensive end Marcus Davenport suffered a pec injury during the Saints’ blowout victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, first reported by Ian Rapoport.

#Saints star pass-rusher Marcus Davenport suffered an apparent pec injury in yesterday’s game, source said. He did an MRI and is awaiting results following an impressive game that included a sack.

This is an unfortunate blow to a talented player who just has not had any luck with injuries throughout his career.

Some speculate that the recovery could take longer than you’d think.

We should know more on the injury front today, but I’m hearing the news might not be good on Marcus Davenport. No word yet on the others. Stay tuned.

Others say it’s a tricky one to diagnose.

Pec injuries can be tricky so they’re still unsure about a timeline.

We’ll have to wait and see what unfolds, but hopefully the wait isn’t too extensive. If it’s another lengthy sit time from an injury for Davenport, it’s safe to wonder whether the Saints front office will want to keep him long-term after this season.
