After retiring from the NFL in 2021, Drew Brees spent one year working for NBC. His brief stint as a broadcaster didn’t go nearly as well as he hoped it would.
Earlier this week, the New Orleans Saints announced that Brees will be enshrined into the team’s Hall of Fame this fall. During that press conference, the legendary quarterback revealed that he’d like to give broadcasting another shot.
“I would love to broadcast NFL games at some point again,” Brees said. “I think I could be the best at it.”
On Saturday morning, Brees once again stated that he’d like to call NFL games in the future.
“Yep, I said it. SNF, MNF or Thursday Night Football. Come get me when you’re ready,” Brees wrote on X. “Until then I’m coaching ball.”
Saints fans would love nothing more than to see Brees get another opportunity. Longtime play-by-play commentator Joe Buck also wants to see the future Hall of Famer back in the booth.
“If there’s anybody who was ever created in a computer to be a top analyst at a network, I think it’s Drew Brees and I would love to see him get another chance at that,” Buck said, via The Athletic.
There’s no indiction that Brees will analyze NFL games this upcoming fall. Maybe, just maybe, he can sign with a network for the 2025 season.
