On Monday night, NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo announced that Kenny Stills is signing with the New Orleans Saints. This will mark the veteran wideout’s second tenure with the franchise.
The Saints selected Stills in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact in Sean Payton’s offense, averaging 20 yards per reception as a rookie.
Stills took his game to new heights in 2014, hauling in 63 passes for 931 yards and three touchdowns. Prior to the start of the 2015 season, he was traded to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Dannell Ellerbe and a third-round pick.
After spending a few seasons with the Dolphins, Stills was traded to the Houston Texans. He had 40 catches for 561 yards and four touchdowns during the 2019 season.
Stills was released by the Texans in November of 2020. The Buffalo Bills signed him to their practice squad, but his stint with the franchise didn’t last long.
The past year has been tough for Stills, but he sounds awfully excited to return to New Orleans. Moments ago, he tweeted “We back.”

New Orleans’ depth chart at wide receiver isn’t very deep at the moment, especially with Michael Thomas on the physically unable to perform list.
Stills won’t need much time to get up to speed with the Saints’ playbook since this isn’t his first time playing for New Orleans.
At this moment, there’s no telling if Stills will be on the Saints’ active roster for their Week 2 showdown with the Panthers.
