New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees made his return to the field after a four-week injury layoff in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday. While he wasn’t able to get a win, he still had three touchdowns in a 32-29 loss.
On Monday, Brees reflected on how it felt to be back. Speaking to the media, Brees said that his goal in yesterday’s game was to “get the feel back” after missing so much time.
As for how he’s feeling now that he’s got another game under his belt, Brees says he’s feeling good. He says that he’s able to do all of the “normal day-after-game stuff” with the Saints right now.
“I feel pretty good, all things considered,” Brees said. “Obviously the normal day-after-game stuff.”

It certainly wasn’t prettiest three-touchdown performance Drew Brees has ever had. He went 0-for-6 to start the game and threw a rare interception while completing only 44-percent of his passes.
The Saints couldn’t get much going in the running game as Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray and Taysom Hill were limited to a combined 60 yards and one touchdown.
That loss also proved fairly costly as it puts them further behind Green Bay for the No. 1 overall seed. Worse still, it opens the door for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the division if the Saints lose another game.
But the playoffs are already locked in for New Orleans and any success they hope to have is contingent on Brees playing well. It wasn’t the best way he could have returned, but we can only expect him to improve week-by-week.
