NFL analyst Michael Robinson took a veiled shot at former All-Pro quarterback Drew Brees while drawing comparisons to Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, saying that Brees wasn’t that athletic as a player. So the former Super Bowl MVP decided to have some fun with it.
In a recent appearance on NFL Network, Robinson referred to Nix as an “athletic Drew Brees” and said “you’re not going to see Drew Brees do a lot of quarterback draws (up the middle).”
Taking to Instagram, Brees decided to post a compilation of his many QB draws through his years in the NFL, a bunch of which went for touchdowns. In the caption, Brees said that it was all in good fun and ribbed Robinson for saying he wasn’t athletic.
“I had to have some fun with this one! I appreciate the comparison @real_mike_rob . Bo Nix will be a stud in the NFL. I still haven’t seen many QBs doing this though…gotta be an athlete! Tape don’t lie! @nfl,” Brees wrote.
Fans and even Brees’ former teammates absolutely loved what he did there:
“Stop playin with 9,” Reggie Bush wrote.
“Drew Brees dropped the hardest Drew Brees edit,” wrote another.
“I’m 100% here for Drew talking his sh*t, like it’s honestly more entertaining than the actual saints rn,” a third declared.
