Free agent safety Tyrann Mathieu took a tour of the Saints facility while down in New Orleans visiting friends and family on Tuesday.
But according to Saints reporter Nick Underhill, the Honey Badger‘s meeting with the team was described as “casual.”
Per Underhill, “Tyrann Mathieu met with Mickey Loomis, Dennis Allen and other staff. The visit was mostly just a casual and for everyone to get to know one another. Mathieu toured the facility. All doors remain open.”

A NOLA native, Tyrann Mathieu grew up in the area and went on to star at LSU. He obviously has a deep connection to the New Orleans community, and landing the All-Pro would certainly be huge for a team that saw both of its safeties walk out the door this offseason.
Marcus Williams signed a five-year, $70 million deal to join the Ravens, and veteran Malcolm Jenkins recently announced his retirement. Marcus Maye was a nice pickup for the Saints, but he’s a bit of a question mark coming off an Achilles injury.
The 29-year-old is one of the top free agents still on the market; and remains a Swiss Army Knife and ballhawk in the defensive backfield.
Fresh off back-to-back Pro Bowl campaigns, Mathieu would bring championship pedigree to a Saints franchise in transition.
