Kamara, Saints defense shine on Monday Night Football

The Saints defense and run game came up big this week, shutting down the Seahawks save for one play to DK Metcalf. Alvin Kamara single-handedly carried the offense as the Saints move to 4-2. Rookie kicker Brian Johnson put the Saints ahead for good in his NFL debut, and Demario Davis and the Saints defense finished off the Seahawks and set up a battle for first place in the NFC South next week when the Buccaneers come to the Superdome.

STUD: Alvin Kamara

Kamara turned in yet another terrific performance on Monday night, gaining 179 yards and scoring 26+ fantasy points for the second game in a row. This was Kamara’s biggest game of the year, as the Seahawks defense was simply unable to stop him once he got into the second level. The offensive line getting healthy again certainly helped Kamara this week, and things will only get better from here on out, as the Saints have matchups with the Falcons and Eagles in their near future, both of whom are outside the top 20 in terms of fantasy points allowed to running backs this season.

dud: Tyler Lockett

Tyler Lockett has had a tough going adjusting to Geno Smith as the starting quarterback in Seattle. He was scored in single digits every week since Week 2, and was held to just 2.2 fantasy points on Monday night. A long touchdown pass managed to save DK Metcalf’s fantasy night, but the Seahawks only managed 83 passing yards on plays other than Metcalf’s 84 yard touchdown. There simply wasn’t enough offense to go around for the Seahawks on MNF, and Lockett unfortunately suffered the most from this lack of production.
