Screw you, Covid-19.
We take a break from our regularly-scheduled 2006 Dome-coming coverage with a reminder that, no matter our best efforts to try to district from the world going on around us, there is still a global pandemic that is destroying lives.
Late last night, news broke that New Orleans Saints legend Tom Dempsey passed away after contracting coronavirus at age 73.

This is mere days after telling the world via a recorded video that he had seemingly recovered from his battle with coronavirus, which just goes to show the horrific nature of this disease.
Dempsey’s then-NFL-record 63-yard field goal in 1970 was one of the lone bright spots for the New Orleans Saints franchise for over three decades.
Call your loved ones. Check on them. Convince them to stay inside. This is real. This is dangerous.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dempsey family, all families who have lost loved ones during the coronavirus pandemic, and medical professionals and their families as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and medical staff all fight to help contain the spread of this disease.
