A dozen different New Orleans Saints players caught at least one pass in Sunday night’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: the entire list of eligible receivers on offense, except for reserve running back Dwayne Washington (whose 9 rushing yards in mop-up duty at the end of the game outpaced the entire Buccaneers team, which gained only 8 yards on the ground combined).
It was an impressive team effort as Drew Brees deftly spread the ball around, hitting familiar targets like Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara as well as first-year teammates Emmanuel Sanders and Adam Trautman (who caught his first career touchdown pass). Thomas carried the offense last year, and Kamara followed up with his own Atlas act early this season. Now that the Saints are healthy and firing on full cylinders, neither of them have to be an MVP for the Saints to dominate games.
And it ties an NFL record, too; 8 different teams have seen 12 different receivers catch a pass in a single game in the modern era, but the all-time record belongs to the 1947 Washington team (which had 13). Most recently were the Green Bay Packers in 2011, against the Atlanta Falcons. That’s rare company to join.
Here’s the full list of Saints players to catch a pass against Tampa Bay. Can you guess them all without cheating?
