Andy Dalton will be suiting up for another franchise next season. According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the veteran quarterback is signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.
Dalton’s contract with the Saints is worth up to $6 million. It includes $3 million guaranteed, per Schefter.
This past season, Dalton completed 63.1 percent of his pass attempts. He finished the year with 1,515 passing yards, eight touchdown passes and nine interceptions.
At this stage in his career, Dalton is firmly a backup quarterback. However, he’s one of the better options in that department.

With Taysom Hill set to move to tight end, the Saints needed a new backup quarterback. If Ian Book isn’t ready to take on that role, it makes sense for the Saints to sign Dalton.
Of course, the starting quarterback for the Saints at this moment is Jameis Winston. He’s currently recovering from a torn ACL.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Saints’ quarterback room performs this fall.
