The New Orleans Pelicans announced that a pair of players underwent successful postseason surgeries. Brandon Boston Jr. and Kelly Olynyk both had procedures done to address injuries that kept them out at the end of the season.
Boston had arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle. The fourth-year wing didn’t play after February 8, due to what was termed a stress reaction in his left ankle. Boston is expected to make a full recovery in time for training camp in the fall.
Olynyk had a debridement procedure done on his left heel. The veteran center had missed the last few games of the season with Achilles’ tendinosis. Olynyk is also expected to make a full recovery before training camp.
The Pelicans hold a $2.3 million team option on Boston for next season. Olynyk has one more year left on his contract for $13.4 million.
