In honor of the 2022 NFL Draft, a progressive timeline of draft picks by college has been shared on Twitter.
This timeline shared by Greg Harvey starts with the 2000 NFL draft. At first, Tennessee had the lead with the most draft picks.
Fast forward just five years later, and Miami had the lead with the most draft picks. However, it didn’t take very long for Ohio State to take the lead and never look back.
Schools like Alabama and LSU have done an excellent job of closing the gap, but Ohio State maintains the lead with 152 draft picks over the past two decades.
Here’s the progressive timeline:
I’m honor of the 2022 @NFLDraft happening this evening, here is a progressive timeline of NFL Draft picks by college since 2000!

Ohio State shouldn’t have to worry about losing the top spot this season, especially since Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson are set to be first-round picks this Thursday night.
It’s worth noting that Alabama could chip away at Ohio State’s lead though. The current expectation is that Evan Neal, Jameson Williams, John Metchie III, Christian Harris, Phidarian Mathis, Brian Robinson Jr., Christopher Allen and Josh Jobe will be drafted over the next three days.
The NFL Draft starts this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. It’ll be televised on ESPN, ABC and NFL Network.
