Confidence in football is on life support while basketball is mixed
The college football season keeps chugging along and there’s not many LSU fans left to enjoy the ride.
In this week’s SB Nation Reacts poll, only nine percent of readers felt confident in the direction of the football program. Not great! Surely playing Alabama will help those of us who bleed purple and gold feel better about the program.
You might have noticed last week we didn’t have a confidence poll result. Well, that’s because not enough people voted to qualify for a result which…yeah that’s pretty fitting.
Anyway, THANK GOODNESS FOR COLLEGE BASKETBALL SEASON AMIRITE???
We’re also asking you for your confidence in the direction of Will Wade: American Gangster’s program. The college basketball season is entering its second week and a little more than half of our beloved readers are confident in the direction of the men’s hoops team.
I imagine the small dip in confidence is because of LSU’s loss to St. Louis last Saturday. If losing to a mid-major team makes you worry don’t! The Billikens are a legitimately good group, and are on the cusp of being ranked. Besides, far better power five teams have had an early shocker to start the year: technically still defending champs Virginia lost to San Francisco on a neutral court, and Kentucky lost at home to Richmond. But that’s no shade to Richmond, the Spiders are also a really good A-10 (same conference as St. Louis) team and are now ranked 19th in the AP Poll. What I’m saying is LSU’s lost to a really good team but will be right there with Kentucky and Tennessee for the top spot in the SEC standings.
You’ll be able to watch the men’s team on an actual television channel tomorrow evening when the Tigers host Louisiana Tech at 5:00 on SEC Network.
