Another blow for the redshirt senior quarterback
Myles Brennan broke a bone in his left arm and will have surgery tomorrow head football coach Ed Orgeron announced in a statement Monday afternoon.
“Myles Brennan suffered a severe injury that will require surgery,” Orgeron said. “His timeline is yet to be determined. Myles has done everything we have asked of him this summer and was in the fight to be the starting quarterback at LSU.”
Brennan was battling sophomore quarterback Max Johnson for the starting quarterback job. That job, for now, is Johnson’s and now freshman quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is QB2.
We’ll have more on this as further details regarding Brennan’s recovery emerges. But this totally sucks for Brennan. During his career he’s had to back up Danny Etling and Joe Burrow. When it came time to take over for Burrow in 2020, his season was cut short three games in. And now, 33 days prior to his fifth and final season starting, he’ll have to have surgery that surely will cost him some portion of the 2021 season.
