LSU boosted its backcourt with three additions through the transfer portal.

The Tigers welcomed guards Shayeann Day-Wilson, Kailyn Gilbert, and Mjracle Sheppard to the roster on Wednesday.

“The three of them will add a combination of experience and depth on the perimeter for us and will bolster our roster,” coach Kim Mulkey said, per ESPN’s Michael Voepel.

After two seasons at Duke, Day-Wilson averaged 11.9 points and 3.5 assists for Miami last season. She led the Hurricanes with 60 three-pointers made and has one year of eligibility remaining.

Gilbert registered 15.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per during her sophomore season at Arizona. She made her last appearance for Wildcats when playing three minutes in a triple-overtime win over Washington on Feb. 18.

Sheppard, whose first name is pronounced “miracle,” averaged 5.0 points, 2.6 boards, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals during her first year at Mississippi State. The 5-foot-10 reserve had her best game at LSU’s expense, tallying 12 points, five assists, and six steals in a 77-73 home upset over the Tigers on Jan. 29.

LSU previously landed former Arkansas guard Jersey Wolfenbarger through the transfer portal. They’ll join Jada Richard, the top high school recruit from Louisiana, in Baton Rouge next season.

The Tigers followed their national championship with an Elite Eight loss to Iowa. Leading scorer and rebounder Angel Reese got drafted by the Chicago Sky, and Hailey Van Lith entered the transfer portal after one season at LSU.

LSU’s later transfers add depth to a roster led by returning stars Aneesah Morrow and Flau’jae Johnson.
