Hailey Van Lith’s final game with the LSU Tigers didn’t go the way she hoped. Not only did she struggle mightily on the offensive side of the floor, she had no answer for Iowa star Caitlin Clark.
After the season was over, Van Lith transferred to TCU. It’s a move that her former teammates at LSU fully support.
In fact, LSU star Flau’jae Johnson defended Van Lith while on “The Baller Alert Show.”
During Johnson’s time on the show, one of the co-hosts mocked Van Lith. They said, “She [Van Lith] transferred out because she got them buckets put on her.”
Johnson wasn’t going to let that criticism fly.
“Your eyes work, but do your legs work? Because you could not guard that girl for 40 minutes,” Johnson replied. “She stepped up to the challenge.”
This response from Johnson led to one of the show’s co-hosts shifting their criticism from Van Lith to LSU head coach Kim Mulkey.
“I don’t think I probably could have lasted three minutes trying to guard that girl. I just didn’t understand when was coach going to say ‘Hey man, we gotta draw something else up.'”

Basketball fans around the country are applauding Johnson for shutting down the critics. Besides, it was a team-inflicted loss for LSU.
Hopefully, Van Lith can silence her critics with her play at TCU next season.
