LSU Quarterback’s Old Comment About Kyle Field Going Viral Before Texas A&M Game

October 24, 2024 by The Spun

College Football’s 10 Most Intimidating Stadiums (1:16)

Two of the top teams in the SEC will square off this Saturday when No. 8 LSU takes a trip to College Station to face No. 14 Texas A&M.

There’s no question that Kyle Field will be rocking for this weekend’s matchup. The winner of this game will feel awfully good about where it stands in the race for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Texas A&M fans will be highly motivated to create a hostile environment for LSU, especially after hearing what quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had to say about Kyle Field.

Nussmeier admit that Texas A&M’s home stadium gets pretty loud, but he doesn’t think it compares to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

“It’s not even close,” Nussmeier said. “Kyle Field is loud – yes, I’ll give them that. But it’s not Death Valley.”

Nussmeier’s comments about Kyle Field will probably be shared with the 12th Man before kickoff on Saturday night. That’ll fire up everyone in the stands, make no mistake about it.

That being said, Nussmeier will have to be ready to deliver for LSU under tough circumstances. He’s completing 64.7 percent of his passes this season for 2,222 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions.

As of right now, ESPN’s computer model gives the Aggies a 52.7 percent chance of defeating the Tigers. Oddsmakers also like Mike Elko’s squad heading into this weekend, albeit the spread isn’t very big.

Kickoff for the LSU-Texas A&M game is at 7:30 p.m. ET. It’ll be televised on ABC.
