LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels will be quite busy this Wednesday.
Once Daniels finishes working out at LSU’s Pro Day, he’ll meet with a plethora of NFL teams.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders will all speak with Daniels. None of those teams have previously met with the Heisman Trophy winner.
The Commanders are the team to watch in this situation. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated recently called Daniels the “leader in the clubhouse” to be the next quarterback for Washington.
“The more I’ve started to ask around, the more it seems like Jayden Daniels is probably the leader in the clubhouse to be a Commander,” Breer said. “It does match up with what Kliff Kingsbury’s looked for in his quarterbacks over the years. Obviously, Jayden Daniels had a great season last season at LSU. He’s probably – I think arguably – the most ready to play of the three guys at the top of the draft.”
The Broncos, Giants, Patriots, Raiders and Vikings also have the necessary draft ammo to move up and select Daniels. That is, of course, if he’s their top target.
Daniels was outstanding for LSU during the 2023 season, completing 72.2 percent of his passes for 3,812 yards with 40 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Barring a sudden change to his draft stock, Daniels won’t have to wait long to hear his name called on April 25.
