LSU’s football program has evacuated Baton Rouge, Louisiana ahead of Hurricane Ida, which is set to hit on Sunday morning.

The Tigers have reportedly re-located to Houston, Texas to prepare for the 2021 college football regular season.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger, it took LSU roughly 10 hours to get to Houston.

“Because of evacuation traffic, it took the team buses more than 10 hours to make the normal four-hour trip,” he reported.

The #LSU football team left Baton Rouge at 9:30 pm last night and only just arrived at 8 am this morning in Houston, where they’ll stay and practice this week.

According to USA TODAY, LSU will get to use the Houston Texans’ facilities ahead of their Week 1 season opener.

The No. 13 Tigers will practice and have meetings and film study at the facilities of the NFL’s Houston Texans and stay in Houston until Thursday when they will fly to Southern California for their season opener against UCLA on Saturday (7:30 p.m., FOX).

UCLA hosted Hawaii on Saturday in its season opener.

Ida is expected to hit the central Louisiana coast Sunday night as a Category 4 storm and go through Baton Rouge. Category 5 is the strongest level of a hurricane.

LSU is set to open the 2021 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 against UCLA.

Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. E.T.

Stay safe, everyone.
