The road to Omaha officially runs through Baton Rouge
Postseason baseball is coming back to Alex Box Stadium and, more importantly, LSU will be a national seed.
After a year away, LSU will once again play host for an NCAA Regional. The Tigers, the No. 6 overall seed, are hosting for a 28th time, which ranks as the fourth most in college baseball history. Should LSU advance, it will be the 13th time Baton Rouge has hosted a Super Regional.
The NCAA revealed all 16 host sites Sunday evening, and on Monday the bracket in its entirety, along with pairings were announced. The pairings are as follows:
1 Vanderbilt vs. 16 Southern Miss
2 Texas vs. 15 UCLA
3 Arkansas vs. 14 Tennessee
4 Auburn vs. 13 Coastal Carolina
5 North Carolina vs. 12 Oregon
6 LSU vs. 11 Clemson
7 Georgia vs. 10 Ole Miss
8 Oregon State vs. 9 Florida State
Coming to Baton Rouge are Dallas Baptist, Rhode Island, and Little Rock. LSU will play Little Rock in the 1-4 game, and DBU will play Rhode Island in the 2-3 game. All start times are TBD, but games will begin this Friday and run, if necessary, through Monday, June 2.
