Another award for JD5
According to my SOURCES I can now report the following: Jayden Daniels had a great 2023 football season. So much so in fact that Daniels was named the SEC’s offensive player of the year as voted on by the league’s coaches.
This isn’t the first honor Daniels has claimed and likely won’t be the last. Daniels is on his way to Baltimore right now to claim the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award and will then head to New York this weekend for the Heisman. Daniels is also up for the Davey O’Brien, Walter Camp, and Maxwell awards.
Daniels is one of two quarterbacks in SEC history to throw for 3,500 yards and run for 1,000. The other quarterback to accomplish that feat was Texas A&M’s Jonny Manziel back in his Heisman-winning 2012 season. For the year Daniels has 3,812 passing yards and 1,134 rushing which is the most among quarterbacks. Daniels also leads the country in touchdowns responsible for with 50 and set a new NCAA record for passing efficiency.
