Talented back picks the Tigers
LSU picked up one of its biggest commitments to date when four-star Lake Charles running back TreVonte’ Citizen made his pledge to the Tigers. This gives the Tigers 15 commitments for the 2022 class.
Rated as a top 150 player according to 247 composite, top-10 player in Louisiana, and a top-15 running back in the nation, Citizen had offers from all the big names including Auburn, Michigan and USC. He is LSU’s first and only running back commitment to date.
Citizen’s pickup is big for multiple reasons, aside from pure talent. LSU was in need of a running back with two draft eligible players on the roster and having lost Le’Veon Moss who opted to commit to Alabama earlier in the summer. Landing a back, especially one out of Louisiana was key.
With the commitment the Tigers remain 4th in the nation according to 247 in total class rankings, roughly two points behind Notre Dame for third.
