Hill is a composite four-star prospect, ranked 25th among all defensive tackles. He’s the No. 16 prospect in Louisiana and No. 291 nationally. Hill is the first defensive linemen to commit to LSU’s 2022 class and the second Edna Karr Cougar to pledge, joining wide receiver Aaron Anderson.
Hill was offered by LSU after his freshman year at Karr and the coaching staff never let up. The folks at 247 compare Hill’s build and skillset to former Tiger Rashard Lawrence. A more detailed evaluation from 247’s Gabe Brooks can be found below.
Thickly built defensive lineman with enough frame space to continue adding mass throughout high school career. Shows encouraging quickness at the snap. Active in pursuit. Usually plays with good leverage. Active hands and shows ability to make plays vs. the run while occupied by blocker. Shows impressive gap-plugging and stacking strength, especially for an underclassman. Get-off burst and pad level enable frequent gap-knifing ability. Could possibly fit in multiple defensive fronts and provide position flexibility and personnel value. Strong bull-rusher but must expand pass-rushing repertoire. Raw technically but possesses great tools as a high-major defensive line prospect who could become a multi-year Power 5 starter and NFL Draft prospect.
With Hill’s commitment, LSU now has the No. 2 class nationally, trailing only Ohio State. The addition moves the Tigers past Notre Dame. LSU has 11 commitments, eight of whom are from Louisiana.
