Couple of things:
- Good on Jacob Morrison for actually giving a real answer and not generic coach speak “yeah they’re a great team that plays hard” type of response.
- What a terrible question! Coastal’s won 26 in a row, earned the No. 13 overall seed for this tournament, and the next game they lose in the postseason will be their first. Why should they kiss LSU’s ass?
- I’ve seen a lot on LSU’s side of social media saying that response gave LSU “bulletin board material,” and I’m sorry, but if winning a national championship isn’t enough motivation for the Tigers then they’ve already lost this series. You’re two wins away from putting up No. 8 on The Intimidator, I really doubt Jay Johnson’s guys need a quote from the opposition to be motivated.
Anyway, Coastal Carolina is a great team and has maybe the best pitching staff in the entire country, and they’re probably the only team out there that can counter the 1-2 combination of Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson.
Speaking of Anderson and Eyanson, this weekend will be the last time we ever see these two on the mound again in the purple and gold. The Tigers have ridden their co-aces all season long to great success, and if these two can be…well Anderson and Eyanson, then I like LSU’s chances to dogpile once again.
