The name of the game is pretty simple: win today, grab control of the bracket, and see if either Arkansas or UCLA can beat you twice. Just because you can come out of the loser’s bracket to win the entire thing doesn’t mean you should. LSU’s run in 2023 was indeed an epic one, but it would have been a hell of a lot less stressful if the Tigers didn’t have to play three straight elimination games.
So as LSU prepares to take on the UCLA Bruins, the Tigers will turn to their California kid, Anthony Eyanson to pitch them into the national semifinals. His running mate Kade Anderson pitched a seven-inning gem Saturday evening against Arkansas, now Eyanson gets his chance to show UCLA what they could have had.
