Four-star class of 2026 prospect Billy White III previews official visit slate

ROCK HILL, SC — Billy White III, a four-star prospect out of the class of 2026, has his recruitment heating up with multiple official visits in the books for this summer/fall.

The 6-foot-8 wing has been a key piece for ASAK Elite on the 3SSB circuit this summer, averaging 13.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He’s known as a shooter, but he’s also a switchable defender, elite rebounder and capable playmaker when he drives downhill.

Because of these abilities, several schools are interested in White. He’ll be tripping Virginia (Aug 28), SMU (Sept. 6), Oklahoma (Sept. 20-21), Oklahoma State (Sept. 28), TCU (Oct. 4-5), LSU (Oct. 11-12), Maryland (Oct. 18). He’s also planning a mid-August visit to Kansas, who recently offered.

White broke down all the schools he’s tripping to ZAGSBLOG:

Kansas: “A blue blood offer is always a great feeling. Prestigious program and coach [Bill] Self, you see how great he did and how many players he put in the league with great size that can shoot the ball. And Allen Fieldhouse helps too. That crowd is always rocking. So I’m excited to head up there. I’m looking to go up there in August.”

Virginia: “It’s great. They came on a little bit later with the new staff, but coach [Ryan] Odom, coach [Darius] Theus and coach [Griff] Aldrich they all come to all my games, show a lot of support and show a lot of interest in my game.”

SMU: “SMU’s been there for a while. Being an in-state kid, they’re at all my high school games, a lot of my live period games. They’re just excited to get me on campus. And they just want to try to make a push in the ACC, and they feel like I’m a player that can help them do that.”

Oklahoma: “Yeah, it’s great. I was on a Zoom call with coach [Porter] Moser a couple weeks ago. He sounds like a really cool coach. Really cool program. They think that I’ll fit in perfect, and I can help them make a push in the SEC and be an impact player right away.”

Oklahoma State: “Coach [Steve] Lutz, he used to coach the [Texas A&M-Corpus Christi] Islanders where I’m from. So I mean, I’ve talked to him ever since freshman year. He’s a great coach, great person. He texts me everyday, calls me every day, thinks that I come to Oklahoma State and make an impact right away and help them make a make a big run in the Big 12.”

TCU: “Coach [Jamie] Dixon, just a great guy. Coach [Duane] Broussard my main recruiter. Probably one of my favorite recruiters. He was on me early. He was the first person to call me on June 15th my sophomore year. So l’ve been talking to him for two years it seems like now. I’m excited to get up there on campus.”

LSU: “LSU, I mean it’s the SEC. They had a kind of a down year, so they’re looking to replace some senior wings that they have this year, and they feel like I can step into that role and be productive. The SEC is a really tough conference, so they’re going to need some high-level players. And they feel like I’m a high-level prospect, so they want me there in Baton Rouge and think I can make an impact.”

Maryland: “Coach Buzz [Williams], he brought me on a visit to A&M before he left, just basically saying he thinks that I’m a great person on the court and off the court. He thinks that Maryland’s going to be the same thing — they’re going to really make a change in the Big Ten and make a big push. He thinks that players like my size fit his system perfectly, and he thinks that I can make it to the league.”

ZAGSBLOG spotted Oklahoma head coach Porter Moser, Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz and TCU head coach Jamie Dixon out to watch White play in Rock Hill. Assistants from all the programs discussed above were in attendance as well.

Kentucky is another school that has been involved with White, but they haven’t extended an offer. Mark Pope watched a game in Rock Hill.

White plans to have a top schools list in about two weeks and is expecting to settle on a final commitment around October. He’s the No. 39 recruit in the 2026 class per 247Sports.
